
Legal Statement
Events must be compatible with the City’s goals and image, and the City possesses the sole and final decision-making authority for determining the appropriateness of an event and reserves the right to refuse to post any submitted event. In determining the appropriateness of a potential event, the City shall consider whether the event may undermine public confidence in the City’s impartiality and/or whether it may interfere with the efficient delivery of City services or operations, including, but not limited to current or potential conflicts of interest between the event host and the City and/or the event host and any of the City’s employees, officials, or affiliates. Posting of an event shall not be construed as an endorsement by the City of the event.
Types of entities that will not be eligible to post events include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Religious or political organizations;
- Companies whose business is substantially derived from the sale or manufacture of tobacco products, firearms, or pornography;
- Alcoholic beverage companies, when the primary targeted beneficiaries of the marketing partnership are youth under the legal drinking age.
- Entities that do not promote the City’s goal of being a family-oriented community;
- Entities that do not promote wholesome family values and have a regional and/or local focus.
